A meeting of original works by two great bandoneon players who bring us their art to the City. From Paraná, Entre Ríos, Susana Ratcliff with her songs and compositions with a coastal air, where the bandoneon also sings and Quena Taborda sharing their own music with an urban pulse and city spirit. A night with all the strength of their instruments and their voices to share and enjoy the live music of both bandoneonists.
Susana Ratcliff is a singer-songwriter, Argentine bandoneonist and composer . Romance between two shores, To Frida Kahlo or The Blue Stone, They are part of that self-expression and the compositional work with poets like Juan Manuel Alfaro. He has shared recordings and scenarios with : Liliana Felipe ,Karma Duo, Jorge Marziali , Chavela Vargas (Mexico), Magdalena Matthey (Chile), Celeste Carballo, Ulises Butron.
In his solo albums with his own songs like “Veré de verte” , “Crossing the sea” or “In Us”, unfolds its song and the sound of the bandoneon. He directed “La Flor de Orquesta” at the Alma-mate de Flores community theater. , Bs As. She participated in the Composers Collective, making visible the creation of women in Entre Ríos in the production of Recitals , workshops and radio programs. Currently working on new material in tribute to the Poet Juan Manuel Alfaro.
Fernando “Quena” Taborda is a composer, arreglador, director, bandoneonist and restless
researcher of new musical horizons. Since the 90 He has been part of different tango groups, from traditional typical orchestras to quintets and ensembles with innovative sounds. On his extensive musical path, He has been a bandoneon player in the Rodolfo Mederos Typical Orchestra (accompanying
singers like Lidia Borda, Ariel Ardit, Phallotic Black, Miguel Poveda), in the Generation Typical Orchestra 90 (by Daniel Binelli), from the Ángel Trelles Quintet, from Bernardo Baraj's quintet, Guest bandoneonist for special performances by Gilberto Santa Rosa, Alberto Cortez, Alejandro Santos, Bucky Arcella, entre otros.
He has participated in numerous international festivals and recordings., both as a performer and as an arranger and artistic director.
He formed the trios Berretín Tango and La Cachiporra, Quena Taborda Sextet, Zambrana-Taborda Duo. He also works as Musical Director of multiple typical orchestras and arranger at La Academia Tango Club, as well as Coordinator of the Tango area, and Professor in charge of the chairs of: Bandoneon, Tango Arrangements and Tango Ensembles, at the Buenos Aires Music School (EMBA). He is currently presenting his new album, Bitácora, fronting La Tabor Band.
