Sebastián Macchi (Piano and composition)
Matías Arriazu (Guitar, arreglos y composición)
The Duo of Matías Arriazu & Sebastián Macchi, addresses a repertoire of instrumental music from the ensemble Piano and Eight-string Guitar, reflecting a strong landscape and rhythmic component present in the Guarani-coastal region, which has been an influence and inspiration in the personal search of both. They are original compositions and open language, where a common harmonic baggage and a great affinity in the treatment of textures, also opens room for spontaneity and improvisation.
They met at the historic Popular Music Encounters in Isla del Cerrito (Chaco), in 1999; being both very young and turned on by different musical pursuits, and later years they met due to the same need to express their own generational vision and the sounds of the coast.
Their paths crossed in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) where they both lived for a few years.
From Arriazu's musical arrangements they worked together with the singer Cecilia Palh on the albums "Corochire" (2010) dedicated to the work of Ramon Ayala, and later in “Litoraneo”(2015) which includes compositions of both.
In 2019 were invited to participate in the “Tertulia International Art Residency” in Hamburg (Germany), artistic residence that allowed them to begin to develop a repertoire together and project this Duo.
