santiago leibson: piano y composición
Juan Pablo Navarro: contrabajo
Nicholas Politzer: batería
After ten years of living in New York, The pianist and composer Santiago Leibson returns to Buenos Aires leading a new project together with Juan Pablo Navarro on double bass and Nicolás Politzer on drums. The trio presents new original material composed by the pianist and designed for this formation. The musical proposal seeks to enhance the timbral and interaction possibilities of traditional piano training, contrabajo y batería, emphasizing the singularities of these great musicians: Juan Pablo Navarro's vast experience in tango and contemporary music, Nicolás Politzer's original search to bring together Argentine popular music and improvisation, and the jazz practice of Santiago Leibson, who has performed on important stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York and has shared musical experiences with great musicians from that city's scene such as Tom Rainey, Michaël Attias or Angelica Sanchez. The result is a series of musical sketches that take influences from different traditions but without falling into collage..
