Quinteto Bataraz is a group that proposes an urban sound and a new approach to transit Argentine folk music from a typical formation of Tango. The ensemble is made up of Sebastián Henríquez on guitar, Carolina Cajal on double bass, Matías Gobbo on bandoneon, Federico Scholand on violin and Lisandro Baum on piano,
arreglos y dirección.
His first album titled Quinteto Bataraz (2014) He won the First Prize of the National Fund for the Arts for Phonographic Production and was the winner of two Gardel Awards in the categories Best Folklore Group Album and Best New Folklore Artist Album..
In their almost ten years of travel they have been selected to give concerts in important music markets such as Womex2016 (Santiago de Compostela), Mica 2017 (Buenos Aires) y Circulart2017 (Medellín).
Among the Buenos Aires scenarios, the Usina del Arte stands out, the Kirchner Cultural Center and the National Radio Auditorium and the Guastavino hall of the National Music Center.
