Quinteto Bataraz is a group that proposes an urban and current sound for the
Argentine folkloric roots music, from a characteristic formation of tango.
The group develops its own language where writing and improvisation coexist, with
arrangements that cross traditions and stress the boundaries between genres. His music takes
folklore elements, el tango y la música contemporánea, building a repertoire
intense, rhythmic and expressive.
En este concierto, the quintet will present new compositions along with a selection of
works from his albums, including Fighting pieces, a work inspired by songs
popular marches and demonstrations.
With more than ten years of experience, Quintet Bataraz has been recognized with two Awards
Gardel and the First Prize of the National Ares Fund, and has performed on international stages and markets such as Womex, MICA and Circulart, in addition to notable venues in the city of Buenos Aires.
