Just back from his European tour at the beginning of 2026, the Mula Parda trio, directed by flutist Martha Humbert Dunoyer, presents a repertoire of Argentine folk music with its own arrangements. His musical proposal is inspired by the roots of tradition and approaches the popular songbook from a personal perspective., in dialogue with influences from academic and contemporary music.
This time, The program brings together works of Argentine folklore along with three guest musicians, that expand the route through different landscapes and styles. The group also continues exploring compositions by great references, among them Atahualpa Yupanqui, present in his first album Atahualpa (Shagrada Medra, 2024), incorporating new pieces and versions that are part of their current repertoire.
“A tribute to Atahualpa Yupanqui implies a great responsibility due to the enormous significance of someone who has been, and will remain forever, a fundamental figure of Argentine culture.
In this album Martha not only rescues emblematic works of Atahualpa, but also other less traveled ones in instrumental versions, where the beautiful Yupanquian melodies shine in careful arrangements, in the talent of the excellent musicians who accompany it, in her notable work as a singer and in the personal treatment of her 'magic flutes', in addition to a beautiful own composition.
Having been born in France, It is remarkable how he has incorporated and understood so completely the language of our Argentine music—which is already his—to honor with excellence those who continue to illuminate the deepest aspects of Argentina..
Gracias, Martha!”
