When 30 Raul Barboza years ago decided to settle in France, his intuition told him that in a country where the accordion is the national instrument, he and his musical legacy could get a chance to have. And he was right, your destination wandering musician would change forever, in a country where it was never conditioned artistically, or the private sector or the state. The simple exercise of creative freedom allowed to be gaining consideration spaces, and beside him, chamamé reached the ears of the European public. Then did the same in the other continents to become today, according to the French press, at the pinnacle of worldwide chamamé.
This year and for the third time since its establishment in France, Raul Barboza was awarded the Grand Prize of the Charles Cros Academy in the World Music category for his role in the drive Chamamémusette! sharing the award with French accordionist Francis Varis, also he participated in recording the Brazilian percussionist Ze Luis Nascimento.
