Music of the Argentine coast
The Benitez/Peralta duo is made up of two missionary musicians with a vast career, Joaquin Benitez Kitegrosky on bandoneon and Oscar “Frodo” Peralta on guitar 7 strings. Their common interest in the music of Misiones has led them to get to know each other by giving traveling workshops throughout their province., spreading knowledge about their respective instruments and the music of the region. Then they began to record, together with percussionist Cacho Bernal, the first album composed exclusively of gualambaos written by Ramón Ayala..
In the compositions and arrangements of the duo you can appreciate the sound particularities of coastal music., always contemplating it from the unique perspective of the province of Misiones.
Joaquin Benitez Kitegrosky is a Bandoneonist, arreglador, instrumentalist and teacher. He was born in Oberá/Misiones and began studying the bandoneon at 9 años. In 2013 travel to cordoba, where he wins in the instrumental soloist category of the national pre cosquin, then it is consecrated as a cosquin revelation 2013 of the national and international festival of Argentine folklore.
Provides workshops and masterclasses on “bandoneon in coastal music” in Latin America and
europa. Performs with renowned figures such as: Ramón Ayala, Pedro Aznar, Amelita Baltar, Lito Vitale, Raul Lavie.
Member of: tangazo quintet, Ramon ayala, Tanghetto, Ramiro Gallo quintet ,Ariel pirotti
cuarteto, and revolutionary quintet. Participates in multiple tours throughout Europe, South America and Asia.. Since 2016 To date, he resides in Buenos Aires..
Oscar “Frodo” Peralta is a guitarist/singer/teacher and composer born in
Inns/Missions. He has a degree in music from the National University of the Litoral.
In the year 2016 releases his first album as a soloist, titled “Seeds”, later presenting it in several cities in Argentina, and in the year 2018 undertakes a tour of Europe to disseminate said material. With the seven-string guitar he dedicates himself in this work particularly to the music of the Argentine coast..
He also integrates groups from various musical currents such as, "Spin"(Latin American music) y “Matereré”(music of the coast), “Frodo & T.S.” (contemporary music). With his compositions he covers the different sonorities traveled throughout his career linked to both academic music and Argentine folk music..
