Original music in tango, interpretada por su trío atípico lanza el segundo álbum “Idas y Vueltas”. Is a tango repertoire, Contemporary but in turn traditionalist and extremely personal. The eight works are original compositions of Adam Tully rooted in tango, With its rhythmic and formal guidelines, But at the same time they seek to bring other languages: camera music, the Jazz, Creole music and the personal vision of the New York composer residing in Buenos Aires.
Works like Fernando Otero (Tribute to an innovator of contemporary Argentine music and tully mentor), And how to fill a void bring sounds to the ear alien to tango: musical scales that do not sound western, or gestures that are worthy of the ’60 jazzeros. But these are always mixed with the imprints of Argentine popular music, as are the Creole bordoneo or the cheerful cadence of the citizen milonga.
Always present is the fantasy flight of the composer in waltzes such as the seed and anonymous story, that sometimes they sound to romanticism and others to the modernism of the last century. They do not need to belong to tango but inevitably belong.
In this celestial sky Tully seeks to inspire again the roots of the tango and its guitar, as did in his last album quarters guitaros. The work is based on the character of the Pampeano style with its rubatos and verses validados, But at the same time he plays with rhythmic and harmonic variations more typical of cities and their academic music. The work works as a letter of love and thanks to the country that received it with open arms.
The round trip tango arises from a game proposed by the composer: One night that had to get the trash decided to create a melody during the first trip, And another on the return trip. Based on the two melodies ended up building this tango. When the recording process of this album ended up being an odyssey, With pandemics interruptions, Children who were born, Moving and others, Tully decided "gone and turns", long -appointed tribute to the project and wink to his most playful work.
