The Revolutionary Quintet presents "Piazzolla Celebration" a unique concert with the best interpretations of Astor's classics to celebrate all the facets of the creative genius and the stylistic legacy of the masters who accompanied him, bringing your work to life.
After a job of 20 years under the name Astor Piazzolla Quintet, recording 3 albums, ¨Revolucionario¨, ¨Fugatta¨ y ¨En 3×4¨ We decided to change the name of the group to ¨Quinteto Revolucionario¨ in honor of the spirit and influence of Astor Piazzolla beginning this new stage with the Album ¨100 años¨, celebrating the centenary of the birth of master Piazzolla.
Five references of Contemporary Tango who, with the tireless research and recording work they have been carrying out, give continuity to the historical line of the style built by Astor and the soloists who accompanied him in the different formations, from the “Orquesta del 46” to the “Sextet” of the year 1989. Latin Grammy Winners 2019 as best Tango album with ¨Revolucionario¨ and Latin Grammy nominee 2021 for the album ¨100 years”.
This year they were part of the closure of the Piazzolla Centennial at Luna Park together with Amalita Baltar, Jairo and Julia Zenko. They participated in the celebration for the 50 years of bilateral relations between Argentina and China and in the reopening of Café Vinilo in May of this year. They carried out several presentations in the most relevant clubs in the city such as Café Berlín and Bebop and presented their symphonic concert as guests of the National Orchestra of Argentine Music "Juan de Dios Filiberto" at the CCK.
